Skin Needling
How does Skin Needling Work?
The concept of skin needling (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns or other abrasions. Immediately after an injury occurs to the skin, the body removes the damaged collagen, elastin and other structures which are then replaced by new components. Skin needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro-injuries which trigger new collagen synthesis, yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring.
The result is smoother, firmer and younger looking skin. Results can be quite spectacular.
What Results Can I expect?
Visible signs of skin rejuvenation are usually seen after just 6 weeks following the treatment and continue to improve for up to a year or more.
We recommend a minimum course of 3 skin needling treatments, at 4 week intervals to achieve optimum results.
Skin Needling, also known as microneedling, is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. This stimulates the skin’s natural healing process, boosting collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, reduce scars, and promote a more youthful appearance.
While noticeable results can be seen after the first session, a series of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is typically recommended for optimal results. The exact number may vary depending on individual skin concerns and treatment goals.
Skin Needling has minimal downtime. You may experience redness, slight swelling, or a sunburn-like sensation for 24-48 hours after the treatment. These effects usually subside quickly, and you can resume most normal activities shortly after the procedure. However, it’s important to follow post-treatment care instructions for the best results.
