What is Pigmentation?

Pigmentation, or hyperpigmentation, is the darkening of the skin in localised patches. A number of factors can trigger an increase in melanin production, but the main ones are sun exposure, hormonal influences, age and skin injuries or inflammation.

Skin Peels

Skin peels are a procedure used to diminish imperfections by gently exfoliating the Stratum Corneum (the outer layer of the skin) peeling away dead cells and rejuvenating the skin. They are designed to minimize the appearance of surface lines, smooth out rough skin texture, aid in clearing acne, and help fade hyperpigmentation. You will only feel a mild tingling sensation when the solution is applied. Peels are great because there is no anaesthesia or sedation required. When treatment is finished you can resume normal activities.

Microdermabrasion

ClairDerm Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive, gentle process of using corundum crystals accelerated onto the skin’s surface to abrade layers of dead and damaged skin cells. On completion of the abrasive process, a vacuum suction whisks away the crystals and the unwanted abraded skin particles leaving your skin smoother, brighter, firmer and with a course of procedures, blemish-free. You will see an immediate visible result of youthful brilliance and a great improvement of dull and stressed looking skin.

Laser Skin Resurfacing

We offer Cynosure Aesthetic laser & IPL removal, this erases the effects of sun damage and skin blemishes with Laser or IPL technology which can remove pigmentation and damage caused by the sun and is also the perfect treatment for fading or removing freckles.
Suitable for dark or light skin the technique emits a specific wavelength that is absorbed by the pigment, permanently removing it.

CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy)

Skin needling or CIT is based on the skin’s natural ability to repair itself whenever encounters physical damage such as cuts, burns or other abrasions. Skin needling allows for controlled induction of the skin’s self-repair mechanism by creating micro-injuries that trigger new collagen synthesis yet does not pose the risk of permanent scarring. The result is smoother, firmer, and younger-looking skin. Results can be quite spectacular. We recommend a minimum course of 3 skin needling treatments, at 2-week intervals to achieve optimum results. During our CIT treatments, we also infuse ampoules to help target pigmentation.
