La Peau Skin Rejuvenation has turned 30 …. and what a rewarding and fulfilling journey it has been!

Over the last 30 years, La Peau has had the pleasure of welcoming amazing clients through its doors, as well as introducing only the best skincare brands and treatments to achieve the feeling of beautiful, glowing healthy skin for all. After 30 years, La Peau is still welcoming some of the loveliest clients whilst tending to their beauty and wellness needs and absolutely loving achieving this.

To celebrate this truly wonderful milestone, I thought I would take a trip down memory lane and take a look back at where it all began, with me, Connie Cassar, Founder and Director.

When I started La Peau, I had the vision to offer my clients something unique and to this day, I am extremely proud to say that I can still offer the unique services and products to my clients 30 years later.

Celebrating 30 years is a milestone and it has been a beautiful journey along the way, to say the least. I started La PEAU in Nov 1992 as a registered home-based salon. Although home- based, La PEAU was a fully licensed salon of the utmost quality and was created to reflect a nurturing, caring and personalised environment with all the facilities you would expect in a modern salon.

In those days I was fairly limited with the treatments and products that I could offer; however, I always had in mind exactly what I was looking for, and therefore, after intensive research and training I was very excited to introduce the GERnetic International range of products to the clinic and I have never looked back.

GERnétic is revolutionary skincare that harnesses advanced technology to apply nutrition through the skin. The results achieved are based on the body’s ability to recover its health and harmony when its cells receive nutritional and active molecules. It is with this passion

that I have created beautiful, healthy skin for my clients that has driven LA PEAU forward year after year.
From life experiences, I know that most of us face challenges that supposedly make us stronger, and this happened to me on 12 December 1995; in the form of 30 little fingers and 30 little toes. This was the day I gave birth to our beautiful triplet girls, who made me who I am today. At this stage of the business, I had built a strong, loyal, and dedicated client base however my challenge was to retain that, retain my business identity whilst also being a devoted mother to not one, but three newborns. Without any family in Brisbane, it wasn’t easy, however I managed motherhood with the support of my husband and great friends that I had made along the way. I initially took a leave of absence from La Peau for four months and during this time-maintained contact with my clients by phone and they were able to come and purchase products from me whilst I guided them through any of their skin concerns.

It has been a great honour and privilege for me to have managed the La Peau clinic for 30 years and remain a dedicated mother of three 26-year-old daughters whom I love dearly, as well as a dedicated wife to my husband who has constantly supported me. During my business journey, I have been recognised and rewarded multiple times by the Chamber of Commerce, and the APAA, the Association of Professional Aestheticians of Australia.

In 2009, I moved from my home-based Clinic to commercial premises in Birkdale, Queensland. I was able to introduce new treatments and new products. Treatments change as technology develops, like IPL, which was not around when I started and of course, I then evolved with this natural progression. I have been on a perpetual quest to source and use the best organic, natural, and cruelty-free products as this was and will always be a top priority for me to offer to my clients. This resulted in introducing Jane Iredale Makeup and Medik8’s range of skincare, and lately, I have added on the Vita Sol range of inner health beauty products. As we all know good skin starts from within and Vita Sol is expertly formulated to support inner harmony and healthy, glowing skin I think it’s the perfect addition to any skincare range.

I am dedicated and committed to offering only the best of treatments and services at LA PEAU and my Motto is ‘If I won’t use it, I won’t supply it. Each and every product and service that I offer at LA PEAU I have tested and tried, and I believe in it 200%. This also goes for my fabulous team, Lucie, Janette, and Jo who are extremely talented at what they do. I think it is the only way to run a successful business with genuine honesty. It gives me great pleasure and a peaceful feeling when I go home every night knowing that I have given my clients a service that I would be delighted and grateful for myself.

Not many businesses get to turn 30, so on this special occasion, I wanted to particularly recognise those of you who have been with me all this time and all the rest of our beautiful clients. It is the incredible loyalty and support of clients that have been a huge contributing factor to LA PEAU’s success. It has been a hugely rewarding journey and I can’t wait to see where we are by age 40!

Thank you for your commitment, for believing in me and for enduring my constant nagging to follow regimes. I am sure you all agree that it is all worth it in the end. Your commitment and what I achieve for your skin together are what I love about my work.
